  • Change your password often.
  • Maintain a healthy dose of skepticism.
  • Always use a secure network. No coffee houses, your personal data can be stolen.
  • Make sure that you are using the most up-to-date Internet software
  • Don't reply to unsolicited messages ("spam") mail, or other harassing or offensive mail.
  • Always remember to sign out when you are done.
  • Don't share your password
  • Don't open attachements from people not your friend.
  • Have a virus protection program
  • Don't forward junk attachments. Chain letters are a great way to spread virus'
  • Have a couple email addresses. One for shopping and web site forms, and one for business, one for work
  • Email spam targets individual users with direct mail messages.
  • Use Bcc to send emails to several people without sharing their email addresses.
  • Do not use email to tease, or bully
  • Do not write angry or harassing emails. You can't get them back.
  • DON'T YELL!!!
  • Use Emoticons to show your emotions :-)
